Class Length: 6 hours (two-day class)
Come build an elaborate box with us! In this two-part workshop, we take students through a comprehensive look at what making a traditional tea or fine storage box takes.
Learn the differences between “rabbets”, “dados”, “mortises” and “tenons.” Students will practice sketching out designs on paper, examining materials to identify ideal pieces, get in-depth instruction on woodworking machinery, and obtain hands-on exposure to hand tools and machines alike.
By the end of the second day with us you’ll walk away with new skills, new terminology, greater appreciation for the tools and their techniques, and a really neat “tea” box! While this class is intended for beginners, some familiarity with woodworking and carpentry tools is a plus.
